About

Kellen Brady

Kellen Brady grew up on Long Island, NY with his parents and sister. Horses have always been in his blood. His grandfather was a professional polo player, his uncle a breeder of Thoroughbreds. Kellen quickly grew too tall to be a jockey and so he settled his sights on show jumping.

Kellen was riding his first pony at eight years old and from there his ambitions quickly grew. As a young rider Kellen was afforded the opportunity to train under the experienced eye of Olympic Medalist Neil Shapiro. In 2002, Kellen realized a childhood dream when he won the Zone 2 Marshall & Sterling Junior Jumper Finals on his beloved Coastal.

After attending Loyola University, Kellen made the decision to pursue his riding full time and left for Germany. Kellen trained under World Cup and Nations Cup rider, Klaus Otte-Weise. There he maintained an intense riding schedule while having weekly exposure to national and international competitions. It was during this time that Kellen developed a particular skill for bringing along young horses.

Returning to the Eastern United States, Kellen went out on his own and KB Sporthorses was born. It was at this time that Kellen met his partner, Rachel Galambos. Rachel is a very accomplished artist and amateur eventer. After a few very successful years in North Carolina, it became evident it was time to expand. In April 2020, KB Sporthorses relocated to the Umpqua Valley of Southern Oregon.
